Where we are
Deira is a picturesque village in the municipality of Mesocco (Canton of Grisons, Switzerland), at 800 m.a.s.l.
Situated near the San Bernardino Pass, we are just a short drive from Ticino and within a few hours of the Italian border and other fascinating European destinations, making it an ideal base for exploring the region, enjoying a restful holiday, but also an ideal stopover on your way to a more distant destination.
How to reach us
by car
Mesocco is accessible via the A13 highway in the direction of San Bernardino/Chur.
Tip: Once you reach Mesocco, set ‘Chiesa San Rocco’ as an intermediate stop on your GPS to avoid less convenient alternative routes. After reaching this point, set your final destination to Strada de Déira 50.
You will find yourself driving along a beautiful road through the forest, leading to the village where the B&B is located. Please drive carefully and cautiously to respect the various animals in the forest, which may appear at any moment.
Please note:
– Parking at the property is free, but access requires passing through the village’s narrow historic core, which is approximately 2.20 meters wide. For this reason, we recommend smaller vehicles for easier access. Larger vehicles can be parked in the public parking area before the narrow section (may be subject to a fee and availability).
– In winter, the last stretch of road may not be maintained and could be covered with snow or ice. Winter equipment or a 4×4 vehicle is recommended.
by train and bus
The main train stations are Bellinzona and Castione-Arbedo (when coming from the south), or Chur (Coira) (when coming from the north).
From any of these stations, you can take a bus to Mesocco for the final stretch.
on foot
Once you arrive at the “Stazione” bus stop in Mesocco, you will see a road in front of you that goes downhill towards the river.
Walk down this road and cross the bridge over the river. After crossing the bridge, continue straight through the forest until you reach a junction with a paved road.
At the junction, continue to the right/straight: you will see a small cluster of houses. Keep walking until you reach the Bed and Breakfast.
- Elevation difference: approximately 80–100 meters.
- Duration: the distance is about 1.6 km and takes around 25 minutes at a normal walking pace.
- This is a mountain trail: we recommend comfortable shoes and light luggage.
- In winter (not recommended): the path may not be maintained and could be covered with snow or ice, making it difficult to traverse. Caution is strongly advised.
If you prefer to avoid the walk, it is advisable to request a taxi or arrive by private vehicle.
